Numbers: It has been exactly 7 days since my last post. It has been 10.5 days since I injured my knee. There are 43 days until Miami 70.3 and 39 days until I leave for Miami.
These are the numbers that are running through my brain all the time… Often intermingled with the number of hours I’m working, number of jobs I’m doing and my team metrics at work.
And no matter how caught up I get in my own life, goals, job and obstacles, I am striving to balance that with supporting Kito with his. While I work for a company that provides a team to reach certain goals, Kito works by himself and has to be his own team. I happily jump in where I can offer my skills to help him reach his goals.
We are two very busy, driven people.
So…let’s get to a recapping.
First, let me brag. Kito builds custom performance cars and is one of the very best in his field. He is humble and you will never hear him say something like that, so I’ll say it for him. Proudly. As I mentioned last week, one of his cars was featured in a magazine. This week, he released a video that has been in the works for a few months. He built a Toyota Rally X car for the SCCA circuit. ArtPrimo sponsored this project and we have a graffiti artist come out and paint it with a full film and photography crew to document the process. The video is amazing and the photo shoot is next week (I think) and I can’t wait to see those photos. Check out the video!
And you can see the site I built for him. That was a fun project too!
My life has not been as exciting. As you know, I have a bum knee so my days are not packed with workouts anymore. I swam once this week and that went really well. The hour bike workout I did on the trainer felt amazing but my knee has not felt amazing since (was two days ago).
I think I’ll be swimming for my workouts in the next week. Here’s the thing… I’m a strong runner and a strong cyclist. I’m a terrible swimmer (improving, though). My optimistic little brain is telling me that maybe all this swimming is just what I needed to improve my race times. I guess we’ll see, right?
My adorable nephew turned four on Wednesday. We celebrated last week and I’m taking him to lunch tomorrow. Can’t wait for that!
I have been working too much. I love and hate it depending on when you ask me. Ultimately, I just want to be the best at my job so I’ll keep working and working and working until I get there. Then I’ll be bored and complaining again. Sorry, I’m not sorry. This is what my life looks like:
Seattle weather has just been INSANE this week. Hot. Cold. Rainy. Foggy. Misty. Bananas!
The Sounders are #1 in the MLS right now!!!! Love those guys.
I made a little time this week to catch up with an old friend. Sitting outside, enjoying bubbly and just chatting was a nice change of pace.
